Gilded Goat Brewing to host week-long diaper drive
Fort Collins, Colorado — Midtown's Gilded Goat Brewing Company has announced today a partnership with The Nappie Project to host a week-long diaper drive from November 6-13. This Monday night, from 6:30-8:30pm, the family-owned brewery will host a fundraising party where patrons bringing diapers for donation will have a dollar of their beer go toward the The Nappie Project's diaper bank.
The Nappie Project is a non-profit dedicated to ensuring that children in Loveland, Fort Collins and surrounding communities have an adequate supply of diapers to remain clean, dry and healthy. One-third of American families fall short of having diapers for their little ones. "The need is huge," co-founder Jan Touslee told us last week. "We're looking to double our distribution to help all these families who are in great need."
Diapers are critical to a baby's health and happiness, yet most federal assistance programs do not consider diapers a necessity and do not cover their expense. The diapers are distributed through the Larimer County Food Bank and other local partnering organizations.
"As a family run brewery and one that also caters to many families, we are thrilled to support this cause," says one of the family owners, John Hoxmeier. "Dads, draft beer, diapers. This theme makes sense to us."
